  • Take some, leave some

This album has about 5 keepers and the rest aren't all that great. Most of the songs just have too much surf and not enough holiday spirit. Many just don't impart that yule tide feeling. Those same songs also seem to have weak vocals. Zach Gill, for instance, is a great back up for Jack, but his so-so vocals typify half this album. The Jack Johnson songs are amazing, big surprise. Zee Avi and Mason Jennings lend their great voices to some really good xmas tunes as well. And G. Love's song is ok.

I think there are two or three tracks on this album that are great, but as the tracks progressed, I found myself laughing at the lyrics and feeling foolish for buying before trying - there is too much filler to be found here. Buy the Jack Johnson single, and maybe Zee Avi's cute track, but forget the rest! This is really a poor album with lovely album art that drew me in.

If you want to listen too this all you have to do is go to american eagle, they have 3 of the songs that I get to listen to all day, and Jack Johnson's Rudolph is the best one...I agree.

I love Christmas music of all kinds, especially new originals that become classics. This album is full of them but I especially love ALO's Christmas Time. It's so warm and inviting I want to listen to it all day!

I so rarely write reviews, but I love this mellow Xmas album. Good to shuffle with the old classics too and won't drive you berserk like the remix crap in the malls and stores. If you love this album, get The Hotel Cafe Presents Winter Songs album too. It's brilliant as well all year round. :)

The best songs on this album are...... -Someday at Christmas (both versions) -Santa Claus is coming to town -No Christmas For Me -Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer All of the other songs are kind of good, but if you want good songs pick these ones.
  • Have a Merry Chillmas and a Relaxing New Year!

This is by far the best and most relaxing Christmas cd compilation out there. Jack Johnson and Brushfire Records have somehow found a way to provide a stunning alternative Christmas album for Brushfire Record listeners to enjoy. If you are tired of hearing the classic Christmas songs that your parents grew up listening to, purchase this album and brighten your holiday season.
